The staff were especially attentive, excellent. Greatly enjoyed the double room. - Extra facilities like a microwave oven, dishwasher, and tea and coffee making equipment were really useful.

Enourmously historic but spooky by its own history, in the best way possible. Edmonds Pittus' bridge (an ikonic landmark of the Civil Rights Movements) right next to the hotel with a magical and mystical view at night time. The internal court yard with its ferry lights does somehow transport you in an other time.

Nothing we did not like. The hotel is quite down dated and there is no wifi, however if you decide to go there you surely don't go there for the wifi or the missing TV. This is a piece of history you are sleeping at. I would not deny more can bee done with the hotel as it is very basic, however it still remains perfect on its present conditions which add a sort of unique and romantic feeling. If you like new and shiny this is not the place for you, but for the sake of the experince please do go there.

Location, location, location AND it was a historic hotel which added to the meaning for being in Selma. The hotel was a part of Selma's history and we wanted to expereince all of Selma's history. Really wonderful hotel.

No breakfast as promised. Staff was limited.

The rooms here have windows that overlook the Edmund Pettus Bridge, which is a fantastic view.

Our balcony sunset view over the river was spectacular. The three story atrium, dining room and bar areas are charming.

Good service. Terrific location near the Edmund Pettis bridge. Easy walking to all sites of historic interest. Good security. Charming wrought-iron balcony overlooking the river and bridge.

This is an old historic hotel built in 1835. Although renovated in 1997 it has maintenance challenges. Beds were firm--1997 level of comfort. Wi-fi didn't work in room, but did in lobby and dining room areas

Had a wonderful room with windows overlooking the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

Were only able to get one room key; 2 would have been nice.

Clean and historic spot right by the river, offering big rooms with balconies and great views of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. 🌉

It was easy to find and near the bridge.

Dinner was slow, when it arrived it was warm at best, not good service. Room was comfy, but was the third room we tried, first the bath didn't work, second didn't have a bath. No hairdryer.
